“Chinese+Vocational Skills” Training Class of Dusit Technical College in Thailand, organized by Gui

        Under the background of “Belt and Road” Initiative and “210 Project” for vocational and technical education cooperation between China and Thailand, educational exchanges and cooperation between the two countries have continued to deepen. In order to actively serve the high-quality construction of “Belt and Road”, our college takes “Chinese+Vocational Skills” education as the carrier, fully utilizes the communication function of Chinese, and promotes the “going out” of vocational skill courses and traditional Chinese culture courses with our college’s unique characteristics.

        On December 10, 2023, following the visit of Siripan Choomnoom, President of Institute of Vocational Education, Bangkok, and presidents of 11 vocational colleges to our college in June this year, 17 teachers and students from Dusit Technical College in Thailand arrived at our college to participate in a 15-day “Chinese+Vocational Skills” training program. On December 11, an opening ceremony for “Chinese+Vocational Skills” training class for Dusit Technical College was held on the first floor of the college's information building. This training aims to provide Thai students with opportunities to learn Chinese and vocational skills, marking a new phase of cooperation between our college and Institute of Vocational Education, Bangkok in the field of vocational education, and also opening a new chapter in vocational education exchanges between China and Thailand.

The Opening Ceremony
 
        Mr. Jakarin Damrak, president of Dusit Technical College,vice president Miss.Tanyaluck Jeeraon, Professor Luo Yong, secretary of the Party Committee and President of Guizhou Vocational College of Economics and Business, deputy secretary Li Yuanbo, Xia Hongzhi, secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Xie Yongmin, member of the Party Committee and Vice President, attended the opening ceremony. Middle-level cadres of the college as well as representatives of teachers and students from both sides also participated in the ceremony, which was hosted by Li Yuanbo.

        In the welcome speech at the opening ceremony, Secretary Luo Yong warmly welcomed the teachers and students of Dusit Technical College in Thailand to the colorful Guizhou province and Guizhou Vocational College of Economics and Business. He expressed his hope that the friendship between the two colleges would become deeper through this training, and looked forward to jointly promoting the development of vocational education of both countries through mutual learning, exchange, and cooperation. He also hoped that the Thai teachers and students would actively participate in the construction of friendly relations between China and Thailand, promote the spirit of Silk Road, tell stories of China and Thailand, and serve as ambassadors of friendship and bridges of cooperation. Subsequently, Secretary Luo Yong presented the school badges to the students of Dusit Technical College, symbolizing their official membership of Guizhou Vocational College of Economics and Business.

        President of Dusit Technical College, Mr. Jakarin Damrak, delivered a speech expressing his sincere gratitude for the careful preparation of the training by our college. He mentioned that this was his second visit to the college, and during his first visit in June this year, he was deeply impressed by the atmosphere of the college and the enthusiasm of the teachers and students, which strengthened his intention to cooperate with our college. He hoped to take this opportunity to deepen his understanding of China. He also expressed his commitment to leading the teachers and students of Dusit Technical College to enjoy their studies. He looked forward to the continued development of China-Thailand project.

        During the opening ceremony, teachers and students from both colleges brought performances of singing and dancing that showcased the unique cultural characteristics of their countries. The Thai students performed a traditional Thai dance, while the students from Guizhou Vocational College of Economics and Business presented a Chinese traditional tea art performance. These performances greatly narrowed the distance between the Chinese and Thai teachers and students. Additionally, both sides exchanged gifts, symbolizing a further deepening of the friendship and cooperative relationship between the two colleges.

        Until December 17th, the Thai students have completed various training courses at our college, including “Engineering Survey” for the major of architectural engineering technology, “Live Streaming” for the major of e-commerce, and “How to Make a Perfect Cup of Chinese Tea with Five Simple Steps” for the tea art training program. In addition, they have also participated in extracurricular practical courses such as the visits to Pingtang “Sky Bridge” Science Museum and Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST).

        China and Thailand are good neighbors, good friends, good partners and good relatives. The concept of a community with a shared future has given the saying “China and Thailand are like one family” a new era connotation. We look forward to deeper educational exchanges between China and Thailand in the future, making greater contributions to the development of vocational education in both countries.

        The successful holding of this training has not only built a bridge for educational exchanges between China and Thailand, but also injected new vitality into the internationalization process of our college. In the coming days, we look forward to the teachers and students of Dusit Technical College spending a pleasant and fulfilling learning time at our college, gaining both knowledge and friendship.
